Where are you now, where do you want to go??
In my Art of Freedom® private coaching programs, one of the first things we do is sit down together to clarify your vision and create a plan for a future that excites you.
Watch the video here:
What are your musical dreams, life goals, and big desires? How clear is your vision? Do you have a plan to carry you through the pandemic with EASE in mind, body, and spirit… or are you floundering, not sure what to do next, feeling despondent and powerless to change your negative outlook – which seems all too justified, given the situation?
You may have a fair amount of clarity around your goals and purpose, but you may have an uncomfortable sense that your life as a musician right now isn’t exactly panning out the way it promised to before. Now during covid-19, it’s all too easy to lose confidence in yourself and lose trust in the world and the “powers that be” to provide the means for you to achieve your goals and realize your dreams as a musician.

You may have had performances cancelled like me, and you may worry about when things will get back to normal. You may be suffering from a lack of connection without being able to communicate in person with your colleagues and audiences. And you may be suffering from a lack of structure and routine in your life, having trouble managing your time well.
It can feel downright demoralizing, depressing, and scary to be a musician today when you don’t have your mindset under control, your body feels tense or you’re in pain, and you don’t have a plan to get you what you want and need in order to feel positive about yourself and your future again.
Are you finding that it’s hard to plan at all, given that most live performances aren’t happening? That’s certainly the case for me: I’m scheduled to perform Vivaldi’s Four Seasons as soloist in May…and Bach at Carnegie Hall in July… but I won’t know for sure until at least January if either of those will actually happen. My guess is they won’t.
Maybe you’ve decided to just to wait it out, watching Netflix and eating Halloween candy under the bedcovers in the meantime… (tempting, I know!)……or maybe you’re scrambling to build up your online teaching studio, or you’ve decided to assume the risks that come with playing some in-person gigs that come your way……or maybe you’re one of the lucky few who has an orchestra or teaching job that’s still paying and offering socially-distanced rehearsals and performances or classes.
Nevertheless, you’re still feeling really insecure because you never know what might happen if this goes on for much longer. You might feel like you have no other choice but to surrender to the situation and just wait it out… or push full steam ahead, keeping yourself occupied and grabbing at whatever comes your way so that you don’t fall apart. But what you REALLY need to do is…
A. Face the truth. Take stock of where you are, in every aspect of your life. Get super-clear about what’s true for YOU right now, in mind, body, and spirit.
B. Create a practical action plan to help you take charge of your body, emotions, and mindset with ultra-vigilance and relaxed determination, so that you know EXACTLY where to apply your time and energy for maximum benefit in your life and artistic skills.
C. Follow through. Take intentional actions aligned with your vision and purpose, so that you come out AHEAD when the pandemic is over, having improved every aspect of your life as a musician, despite this hiatus from normal life. Make the MOST of this time!!!
These are all things I do in-depth with my private coaching clients. The first thing we do is take stock of where you are now, personally and professionally, so we have a basic foundation to build on. After all, in order to draw a map to your destination, we have to know your starting point!
Next, we’ll tap into the first Pillar of my Art of Freedom® Method: ‘Purpose’. You need to know your “Why”. What do you want, and why? Why are you doing what you’re doing? Why are you a musician, and what do you want to create? I’ll help you tap into your Life Purpose (don’t worry – you don’t have to know what it is!) and get clear about what’s most important to you.
Once we’re clear on your ‘Point A’ (where you are now) and your ‘Point B’ (where you want to go), and WHY…. we get more specific. We take an inventory of the different areas of your life, and lay out a step-by-step plan to help you achieve your goals. Later I’ll put that into a colorful Life-Design visual representation for you to have as reference.
Over the next months, you’ll start to feel more at ease, more organized, more in control of your life, and empowered to change how you feel, how you play, and how you live. Regardless of outside circumstances. Even during a pandemic. No matter what.
Because when you have a clear vision, clear intentions, and a powerful but simple system to move you forward with ease and flow, anything is possible. My clients regularly experience unexpected “side effects” – like chronic and acute pain disappearing, moods uplifting, strange “miraculous” things occurring…and they all learn how to make better music with ease. All it takes is to take that first step… and the next one… and the next one.
Before you know it, you’ll be feeling better in mind, body, and spirit, and you’ll be enjoying your music more than ever before, as you see progress daily taking you closer and closer to realizing your dreams!
Tell me “YES” in the comments if you’re ready to take charge of your life and make the MOST of this time, so you can come out of this pandemic BETTER than ever! 🙂
With Love & Enthusiasm for YOUR future!
