Today, we're celebrating Jennifer Yarbrough, Violin! š
“Working with Jennifer has been one of the best decisions I've made for myself and my career as a musician.”
Hereās Jenniferās experience (see her picture below):
“I am happy to say that through working with Jennifer and her Art of FreedomĀ®ļø Method, my relationship to my instrument, music, and myself is being healed every day.
Even my husband could hear a difference in my playing only a couple weeks after starting, and I can also look back on old videos of my playing and see how far I've come.
I've been dealing with a bit of heightened anxiety over the past few weeks, and I've been using the Primal Alexander Technique tools she taught me to help me cope, and even, dare I say, befriend the uncomfortable aspects of going through these waves.
Jennifer's ‘3 Magic Phrases' – especially ‘I am safe' and ‘I don't have to do anything' – have been helping me SO, SO much, as well as ‘IMA' and doing ConstructiveThinkingā¢ļø. I am beyond grateful for how I can apply The Art of Freedom to every area of my life.
I love that it doesn't necessarily fix everything, but that it gives me the ability to HANDLE it. It has even made me grateful to experience hard things, because I'd rather know how to handle hard things as I do scary things, like aiming for my goals, than to stay safe or avoid facing my fears while staying trapped in who I am or was. I am finding my strength and self through this work!
I notice when I demonstrate for my students that I'm more comfortable and confident in doing that. I used to, and admittedly sometimes still do, HATE demonstrating for students, because I was so self-conscious and critical. Now, I just appreciate that when I demonstrate, there are so many areas of ease, and I am able to be so much more open and vulnerable with them. I accept my mistakes and humanity, and I also have more enjoyment in sharing myself and my playing.
Jennifer has been incredibly generous in enabling me to continue my private coaching journey with The Art of Freedom since the first course I took with her over a year ago, and this has been such a gift, one I will benefit from for the rest of my life. I am so grateful, Jennifer!”
Thank you, Jennifer, for sharing your experience with us! ā¤ļø
