We are human beings whose souls have become enraptured by the ever-changing and infinite variety of shapes, colors, and waves of meaning carried to us on the wings of sound. 🎶 Our music reflects the entire capacity and richness of the human experience in all its divine glory, as well as its darkest, lowliest misery.
When we chose to become musicians—or music found us—it was because we knew in our hearts there is no better or more beautiful way to connect and share the very depths of who we are.
We live music, breathe music, and risk other parts of our lives and our well-being to pour it all out to the world. Every day, we bare our souls and express ourselves as profoundly as we can. ✨
If you’re like most professional musicians, like myself, you’ve probably spent thousands of hours—maybe an entire lifetime—devoted to your art. 🎻
You may have invested tens of thousands of dollars on teachers, university degrees, instruments, equipment, and travel . . . foregoing thousands of hours of leisure time, saying no to endless social activities, holing up alone in a practice room instead.
You’ve set yourself apart from your neighbors, peers, and loved ones, so you can somehow achieve your goal of transforming your musical ideas into magical sounds and your lifelong dreams into reality. 🌟
So, after all these years of passionate dedication and sacrifice, if things still aren’t working out, it’s no wonder if sometimes you feel desperate for things to finally change for the better, if not a little disillusioned.
It’s easy to feel disappointed when the big dreams you had when you were younger turn out to seem unachievable. This inner restlessness is a big reason why the majority of musicians experience physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual suffering over their art. 🌿
I'd love to hear your perspective if you'd like to share your thoughts.
With Love & Light,
Jennifer ❤️
