-
your income and financial situation?
-
your career and future job prospects?
-
your home and work environments?
-
your personal and professional relationships?
-
your relationship with yourself (mind, body, spirit)?
-
your musical skills, the quality of your music?
Now, go over the list again more slowly. Take a moment to appreciate what actually IS working in each of these areas, and thank yourself for the good work you’ve done over time to get yourself where you are today. No matter what your situation looks like right now, can you still be grateful for the skills you have, the ideas you have, and the people you connect with?
If you want to make improvements, know that it’s actually easier to change things when you’re feeling relatively content and grateful, rather than over-focusing on what you don’t have or what’s not working. Making a habit of counting your blessings and celebrating even the tiniest personal wins on a daily basis is a key to cruising along the road to greater life satisfaction.
🌟 When you’re practicing . . . why not put down your instrument for a moment and bask in the beautiful sound you just got out of your instrument? Why not feel good about your improving intonation and that newly memorized passage in the moment you get it right, instead of immediately searching for what else might be going wrong that needs fixing in a hurry, before your practice time runs out?
Taking time to pause, acknowledge your achievements, and feel good about yourself is such an important skill to develop. It creates balance and joy, and it’s essential to speeding up your progress. ✨
I'd love to hear your thoughts. Care to share?
With Love & Light,
Jennifer ❤️
