Sometimes everything clicks. Connection is alive, passion flows freely, and the shared musical moment feels truly sublime ✨🎶
And then sometimes it doesn’t.
The performance feels flat. Fingers miss their mark. Passages that felt effortless at home suddenly unravel onstage. Nerves take over. Thoughts spiral. We worry about what people think, what might happen, or what already did 😣.
When you don’t feel in control of yourself and your reactions, consistency disappears. Your playing becomes unreliable, and performing starts to feel like a gamble instead of an expression. It is frustrating, exhausting, and over time deeply demoralizing to keep showing up when the results don’t reflect your preparation.
There are few things more discouraging for a musician than practicing a piece for hours, days, weeks, or even months, feeling genuinely ready, and then for no obvious reason stepping onstage and having nothing work.
Or imagine this.
You spend months or years preparing orchestral excerpts for a major audition. You are as ready as you will ever be 🎯. You play them flawlessly for colleagues and teachers, again and again.
Then you spend hundreds of dollars to travel to the audition. The moment arrives. Everything needs to come together, and suddenly a wrong note appears or the tempo wavers. And just like that, the jury stops listening after the first few lines.
So why does this happen?
Why can it feel so hard, even when you have done everything “right”?
Here is the truth, and also the relief. It is not your fault 💛.
You were never taught how to truly know yourself. No one showed you how to take charge of your own mind and body, how to work with your nervous system, or how to pursue your goals in a way that feels grounded, healthy, and ease filled.
You were not taught how to put yourself first, not selfishly but wisely, so that you could play for others with generosity, presence, and your whole self.
You were not taught how to question your thoughts, your beliefs, or the conditioning that quietly shapes your reactions 🧠.
This is exactly what this book and my coaching programs are designed to address. I want you to learn how to stop filtering your life and your music through what others expect of you, or what you have been subtly trained to believe you should want.
The Art of Freedom® Method is about having a center.
It is about knowing your true heart’s desire, clarifying your personal goals, and learning how to achieve all of it with clarity, confidence, and JOY ✨🎶
With Love & Enthusiasm,
Jennifer ❤️
