Today, let's celebrate Kyle True, Cello! 🎉
Here’s Kyle’s amazing experience:
“It would be an understatement to say that I was struggling before I joined Jennifer’s program.
I was suffering from jaw and back issues that I knew were related to playing the cello. I was not enjoying my practice most of the time and I felt like I was banging my head against a wall getting nowhere. I did not enjoy my sound and just felt so uncomfortable with my instrument most of the time.
That all started to change very soon after I joined.
The first thing I noticed was that the jaw pain that had left me almost completely unable to eat without tremendous pain for many months disappeared within a few days. I almost couldn’t believe it!
Over the past year or so, my playing has changed in ways that I only dreamed were possible and my relationship to my instrument and my enjoyment of it are improving steadily and consistently. Those magical times when everything just clicks happen much more often now and I have a much better understanding of what conditions allow that to happen. It is no longer just a happy accident that only happens once in a while.
Lessons and classes with Jennifer are always eye-opening. She is kind, compassionate, and is not afraid to be firm when needed. I always appreciate how adept she is at explaining hard-to-grasp concepts in concrete terms that help deepen understanding and minimize confusion.
A lesson with Jennifer is never boring. She is always playing around with different ways of looking at things and sharing those ideas with her students and she asks great questions which often lead you to look at areas for improvement that you may not have even considered otherwise. And she's highly skilled at catching really subtle habits that are causing things to not work as well as they could.
Her commitment to this work and to her students have inspired me to become an Alexander Technique teacher myself and I have already had so many wonderful experiences sharing what I have learned with my students. I am excited to see where this work takes me and I am so grateful to have found Jennifer and The Art of Freedom!”
