Here’s Linda’s experience:
“I met Jennifer after stumbling on her Practice Community on Facebook.

She had a practice challenge I signed up for as a newbie to violin. Boy, was I out of my league with my Suzuki lessons among these insanely accomplished players. But I was welcomed! I learned that all levels of player do the same things in practice. We play as we can to the level we can. We isolate areas that we want to improve on and experiment to see what makes them better.

One day, I was ready to quit out of frustration. I was giving up.
I couldn't get through a wall and felt hopeless. It was just an exercise in futility to continue. I expressed it in her practice community and Jennifer surprised me with a flat-out, NO!

She offered to beta-test a beginners class online to teach me and others who would participate how to play without pain and fine ease through the Alexander Technique. I said I would try it and continue playing. I could always quit later.

I actively participated in the classes and homework. I halfheartedly took notes, but I showed up and did the work. It paid off in ways I couldn't imagine.

I watched people have breakthroughs in areas where they were locked not only in playing but elsewhere in their lives.

I noticed that no one really smiled at the start of the classes but by the end everyone did! We could see changes in playing through posting videos of our practice sessions.

I never told my private teacher I was taking this class. At the end she commented that I was playing the best I ever had. She said she can tell I am relaxed because my sound is totally different. Jennifer's 3 Magic Phrases, Mio Morales's Cycle and three variations of “MJ” all helped me to relax and find ease as I learn more advanced skills.

More importantly, Jennifer and her teaching style gave me hope to continue. My violin teacher works on my skills while Jennifer and her AT teachings work on my heart.

I would highly recommend taking any of Jennifer's classes whether in person or live online. Having the live feeds is just like in person classes. There is no difference in the teaching or learning.
